Among the rolling hills west of the Twin Cities lies a property built with uncommon intention. Steepleview Farm & Equestrian Center spans 69 acres of gently contoured countryside in the Delano School District-a landscape designed not for spectacle, but for stewardship. At its heart stands a new $4.5 million equestrian complex, completed in 2025 after a full architectural rebuild. Every system-drainage, water, ventilation & in-floor heat-was engineered to exceed the standards of any comparable private facility in the Upper Midwest. The result is both practical & poetic: a barn that works beautifully & feels timeless. Inside are 22 custom stalls with soft-stall foam underlay, Barn Walker fronts with optional yokes & camera coverage. The stallion/rehab wing allows direct paddock access, while non-automatic waterers with individual valves enable precise monitoring. Wide cross-ties, dedicated farrier zones, a well-appointed tack room & drive-through access make operations seamless for riders & staff alike. The 100200 ft indoor arena, built on a 98%-compacted ag-lime base, is heated by a million-BTU system & ventilated through an engineered network of angled air exchangers. Complementing the main barn are a seasonal barn with 10 stalls, a hay barn, workshop, full outdoor arena, show field, cross-country field, multiple pastures & 30 acres of hay ground & riding paths. Support spaces include a rider's lounge & office suite with kitchenette, bath & lockers, plus staff quarters & storage wings for long-term management. Steepleview's design accommodates a full range of equestrian disciplines with rare versatility. Its scale, footing base, land & infrastructure suit hunter-jumper, dressage, eventing, reining or pleasure disciplines, while the stallion/rehab wing naturally supports breeding, rehab & conditioning programs. The main residence-a late model 4,400 sq ft walkout rambler-is positioned for privacy & panoramic views of the pastures & hay fields. Light-filled interiors feature large windows, updated finishes & a warm, livable design. Recent exterior upgrades include a new roof, paint & refreshed siding. Both levels have full kitchens, while the lower level offers a private suite with exterior access-ideal for guests, multigenerational living or discreet on-site management. Flexible spaces allow easy reconfiguration to suit a new owner's style. Beyond its function, Steepleview carries forward the spirit of the gentleman farms that once graced Lake Minnetonka-Boulder Bridge, Highcroft & their peers-a legacy now evolved westward into a more inclusive expression of enduring ideals. This is not a commercial training center but a private or semi-private equestrian retreat-a sanctuary for those who measure value in precision & permanence. Just beyond the gates lies Delano-an authentic small town embodying the ideals Minnesota was built upon. Founded in the 1800s along the Crow River, it has grown thoughtfully, preserving tree-lined streets, a historic downtown & a true sense of belonging. Neighbors wave, shops know your name & each Fourth of July the town gathers for one of the state's oldest celebrations. Yet amid this timeless charm are modern comforts-local cafs, boutiques, top-rated schools & Twin Cities access in under 30 minutes. For those seeking the peace of country life without losing connection or community, Delano offers an idyllic backdrop-one that perfectly complements the grace & purpose of Steepleview Farm. A working property of exceptional design & integrity, Steepleview Farm & Equestrian Center stands ready for its next steward-someone who understands that excellence, once built, becomes its own kind of heritage.
